Our Vision, Values and Aims
Our core purpose is to 'inspire confident, resilient learners who will thrive throughout their lives'.
We aspire for Copmanthorpe Primary School to be a place where everyone has a growth mindset, aims high, and can overcome barriers to success. Through the opportunities we provide, in partnership with parents and carers, we aim to develop children as independent, resilient learners and effective communicators. We want our children to develop a life-long love of learning to enable them to achieve and succeed in the future.
Our School Values

We think positively: we are all full of hope for today and for our futures.
We welcome care for and respect everyone.
We grow our intelligence and skills by having a growth mindset.
Friendship is really important to us.
We persevere and never give up!
We show our creativity in everything we do.
We value resilience so if something gets in our way we can always bounce back.
Inspiring and exciting learning opportunities allow us to thrive.
We develop independent learning, thinking and life skills.
Our children are entitled to be part of a healthy, happy, inclusive, caring community which will nurture children and give them the confidence to develop holistically.
We strive to equip our children with the confidence and a vision to succeed in a technological, fast-paced world.
To foster curiosity and stimulate children’s imaginations by providing a varied, enriching
curriculum through which children are inspired to accept and respond to challenges.
We aim to help and encourage children to develop a sense of identity and self-esteem which is firmly rooted within a framework of world diversity. Through our teaching we foster spiritual development in each child enabling children to reflect upon their experiences, themselves, others and use this knowledge to strive for excellence.
To provide a happy, safe and supportive environment where all children feel valued and where we nurture tolerance and respect for self and others.
We aim to be forgiving; having empathy with our community whilst promoting honesty and
fairness helping us to make the right choices.
We aim to inspire and challenge our children encouraging them to strive for high
standards through having a growth mindset, celebrating successes and valuing hard work, determination and resilience; watching their confidence grow as they flourish, becoming life-long learners.
